August 23rd to August 29th, 2010 was Downtown St. Louis Restaurant Week.  Twenty eight downtown restaurants were offering 3-5 course Tasting Menu's for $25 per person.  So this was the perfect opportunity to try Mosaic.   I gathered 5 couples and the reservation was made.  If you pull up to the front of the restaurant, complimentary valet parking is available, which takes all the burden out of trying to find a place to park.
We started w/ some awesome martini's in the bar area.  I started w/ The Watermelon Basil Martini - $10. So good that I had another!
There was a special 5 Course Menu for the diners that were there for Restaurant Week or you could order off the regular menu or like me, order off both menu's!

FIRST COURSE:
Amuse Bouche

Truffle Custard w/ Tarragon Pea Foam finished w/ Lump Crab

Flash Fried Baby Artichoke Hearts w/ Chipotle Aioli $8

Fresh Mozzarella Caprese $8.5
Tomatoes, Champagne Mango, fresh Mozzarella, English cucumber, toasted hazelnuts.
Basil Vinaigrette & Balsamic reduction

SECOND COURSE:
Butternut Squash, Baked Potato or Chilled Spicy Watermelon Soups

Butternut Squash Soup
Spicy, Chilled Watermelon Soup

Baked Potato Soup

THIRD COURSE: Choose One

Fresh Mozzarella & Compressed Watermelon
Tomato Water Vinaigrette, Balsamic, micro Basil

Baby Arugula Salad
Soft Boiled Farm Egg, Bacon Vinaigrette, Crisp Speck

Truffle Roasted Chicken Breast
Smoked Garlic, Bacon Braised Brussel Sprouts, Celeriac Puree

King Crab Tails
Brown butter & Foie Gras Emulsion, Hon - Shemiji Mushrooms & Broccolini
w/ Lobster Mashed Potatoes

Chocolate Napa Cellars Cabernet Cake topped w/ red currants.
Savory Manchego Cheesecake w/ Carmel drizzle & pineapple chutney.

Mosaic's is the perfect place to enjoy an evening.  They especially were very accommodating to large groups of people. They had a nice private room that could accommodate a large party.  Very sexy atmosphere and  a nice club/bar area adjacent to the restaurant.

  1. Debbie,
Thanks so much for the inside look at Mosaic! I still haven't been there since moving here in March but it looks incredible. I actually ate last night at Sunset 44 in Kirkwood... have you been there yet? Unfortunately, no pictures, but incredible food and amazing assortment of wine. Just seeing what you thought of it. Thanks!
