The new gem of the St. Louis Culinary scene is located in the Valley Park/ Ballwin area.  So nice to be able to visit another terrific dining establishment and not have to drive into downtown.  After many adventures and career turns, Chef Justin Haifley, (graduate of Parkway West)  has returned to the city of his roots and opened The Tavern to the delight of its many patrons.   The Tavern has already earned its title of ST. LOUIS MAGAZINES 2011 RESTAURANT OF THE YEAR!   Well done and well deserved  Chef!
The chef does a beautiful job of presenting and preparing upscale "comfort food" with a twist!   The restaurants atmosphere is a comfortable, upscale "tavern" environment!  We loved everything about our evening and cannot wait to go back!

Ok, we did make a return visit with a group of 14 people and the service was excellent!  Our server, Desiree handled our group with first class service, giving suggestions and answering all our questions. Matt, the manager made every effort that our evening went perfectly.  Both owners, came by our table numerous times and asked repeatedly how things were going and if we were enjoying our dining experience. Thank you to all of the staff for showing our group such an amazing time!
